from the thread:
At this time, every news source is likely to have a different story.

When it all plays out, one story will emerge.

That's because "journalists" just make stuff up so their masters have something to print, and then they revise the story minute-by-minute to come into concensus with other stories... the final concesus still independent of any factual information.

Anyone else remember the Reuters story about the USAF taking out Osama bin Laden's compound with cruise missiles? Or the ABC one about bin Laden being defended by the Pakistani military? The original stories got "updated", and the only online traces are in comments by people about them on other sites.

The press depends heavily on the fact that most people have the long-term memory of an amoeba.

I look at Al Jazeera from time to time. And Russia Today. And the BBC, and France 24, and Asahi Shimbun. And even al-Reuters and Faux News on occasion.

They're all "Main Stream Media", and equally untrustworthy.

One problem is there are less than half a dozen news aggregators worldwide, and all print and electronic media subscribe to one or more of them, so you're getting generic McNews whether it's from St. Petersburg, Ukraine or St. Petersburg, Florida.
