I *did* read the original article, and his "explanation", and his "apology."

A lot of people assumed that Metcalf was pro-2A because he ran a gun and hunting magazine. But he was only a journalist and business manager.

Yes, he had the right to his own opinion, and as editor, to print that opinion. He was also so wrapped up in his own greatness that he either never considered or just discounted the reaction he'd get from his readers. Now he's drifted off to a new group of people who think more like he does, and he'll probably wind up editorializing for them eventually. It's what journalists do.

A whole lot of people are JUST FINE with limitations on free speech, RKBA, or other rights, as long as their own particular oxen aren't gored. "Stupid people have rights too."
