It was the submarine thing that finally set me off. All that Cold War defense system, and the later upgrades, "no sparrow shall fall" border control, and... I guess it's a good thing the Rooskies never actually tried an invasion, because the first warning anyone would have had would be T-34s jockeying for parking spaces along Pennsylvania Avenue and the Pentagon parking lot.
