And yes there is always ammonpulver.

Optimist have you used ammonpluver and if so are you just using mag primers or are you adding a secondary ignition charge of some kind? It is supposed to be somewhat difficult to set off... also many recipes out there all slightly different, but all the same basic principle. Are you using one that is somewhat easier to ignite?

I'm all theory and no practice with ammonpulver.

All things concidered ammonpulver looks much better than black powder on so many levels.

Okay. You got me curious. What is ammonpulver? First I've heard of such an animal.

Ammonium nitrate and charcoal. I use a wax binder to deal with the crystal issues when temp goes up and down above and below the phase change point. It is about the same power as IMR 3031, and burns very clean and cool. PM me for details.
