I was considering getting one, but I'm not real sure what's involved in installing them. I'm assuming you have to get it far enough down to take the trigger out and the hammer appears to pivot on the safety center.

Actually, all that really needs to come off is the grip safety and the right grip panel. Fit the safety as usual, trim the grip panel to clear the retention tab. Unless you get a Kings, which uses a grooved pin to retain the right thumb lever.

So I don't need to strip the internals out? I tried pushing on the pin, but it wouldn't budge. I've never had one apart before aside from field stripping.

With an unloaded gun, cock the hammer. Raise the thumb safety half way between fire and safe, wiggle out. Watch out for plunger spring, loves to hide under furniture.
