I need to know the correct feed ramp angle on a Colt. Would a Caspian frame be any less of a angle? I'm thinking it is 37 deg, but not 100% sure.

I know I've seen it on one of Tuner's posts but can't find it.

It's 31.5 +/- 0.5 degrees measured from the vertical.

This and all other U.S. Army specs for all 1911 USGI parts can be found at the link "M1911 Full Blueprints..." in the Technical Issues section of this forum.

Don't know if Caspian (or any other frame maker) uses a different spec. My hunch is they probably all use the U.S. Army specs.

Thanks niemi24 for the info. The reason I asked was my friend has a used Caspian frame w/ a old Colt slide, the feed ramp looks a lot thicker then my other 1911s, at the top of ramp it measured 0.288/ mine are around 0.235.

I do not know what angle it is as I don't have it here now, as far as I can measure mine are around 31/32 deg.

If by thickness you're referring to the fore-aft measurement from the top of the feed ramp (where it meets the barrel bed) forward to the vertical impact surface (VIS), that dimension is 0.260 +/- 0.010 inch according to calculations based on the U.S. Army specifications.

Some other derived dimensions are shown here:
