I have 5 sets of 1911 45 blue prints 1 from Springfield Armory from 1939.

All have the slide rail grove at .119 +.002 but the upper rail depending on print shows (.100 - .002) and (.105 -.005) and (.102 +002).

What is right?

Prints I have seen are .1180 +- .001. I have some .125 keyway cutters being ground down at the local sharpening place as we speak. Ideally I guess is measure the rails on the slide get it close and lap it in, but this will be my first 1911 so trial and error will be my guide.

Thanks for the info.

I will be getting 3mm Key Seat Cutter, 3mm = .1180 inch.
