At the risk of gettin' yahooed out of here for something thats probably common knowledge... if you were to lower the ejection port on your pet 1911, at what angle would you cut the inside bevel to make it "run right" as the Tuner is fond of saying.
The angle isn't critical. It's mainly there to break the sharp corner and clean up the port wall rather than act as a guide for the empties, though it does provide a little more clearance. If the gun is "Runnin' Right," lowering the port isn't necessary either. If the cases eject at 2:00 like they should, they should miss the lower wall. The trick is to get it to eject dead on at 2:00 which isn't all that easy sometimes... so the port is lowered to keep from makin' the "V" ding in the case. BUT... If the ejection angle is straight out at 3:00 it'll do it anyway.
Thanks Tuner! I'll go ahead and knock of the sharp inside edge with the mill so's she'll at least look good!
