Are Wolff "extra power" firing pin springs better?

Wolff usually includes an "extra power" firing pin in with their recoil springs. Are these usually better than Factory springs? How is the "extra power" in a firing pin spring supposed to improve the function of a handgun? Thank you.

They are a CYOA for the extra-power recoil spring.

The extra strength keeps the firing pin from flying foreword quite so easily when the slide slams shut.

Just suppose for instance, that the new extra-power recoil spring increased slide velocity by 10 or 20%.

And that was enough extra speed, combined with your old weak firing pin spring, to make your semi-auto go full-auto!

It also improves drop safety on guns that don't have a positive firing pin block.

In some instances they can cause light primer strikes.

Whether or not you install them is up to you, but so far, I have not seen the need for them.

Are they necessary? Probably not. I'd agree that it's a CYA item. However, Wolff springs are better than OEM springs, so you may as well install it since you've got it.
