Hi, does anyone know how to get the mainspring housing pin to go in. It seems if I look inside the pin hole the little pointed pin I installed on the spring is just sticking out of the bottom of the housing. Is this normal? It seems to stop the pin from going in.

The point sticking down is to retain the pin.

It rides in the groove on the mainspring housing to lock it into place.

Start it into the hole and give it a whack with a mallet with the grips off,or a punch and hammer. It will help if the tip of the punch is rounded off to make it convex so it won't mar the pin as much.

It shouldn't be that tight, but if these are all new parts,it could be a little tighter than needed.

You shouldn't have to beat it into place.

You can use a little lube also.

Also, I found through trial and error, that having the hammer down makes this a LOT easier.
