I just bought a Colt Systema, matching #'s on the frame and slide not the barrel or mag, arsenal refurbished. I field stripped the gun for cleaning and when I did the barrel link pin just dropped out? Should it be this loose? Should I peen it in? I am at a loss here and I dont wan't to fire it till I resolve this.

I think a slight peening would be fine.

Yes peen, swage, or replace with a roll pin - all are acceptable solutions. If it were mine - I'd probably swage it much like jk suggest on the hammer strut pin.

First off this is not much of a concern in case you were startled. Many 1911's display the symptoms yours does as does my personal 1911. I do not let it bother me as I know that when the pistol is assembled the pin is captured by the frame and can not back out in any way. If you ever field strip your pistol in the field or it bothers you in any way then just with a prick punch raise a bur on the barrel in close proximity to the pin to keep the pin captured. You will have to do this on both sides of the barrel link pin.
