Does anyone make disconnectors for 1911 that is extra long? I have a problem that the stock disconnector that came with the DPMS kit was too short, so naturally the gun could go full auto if I fire it with a full mag. Its that maybe the part of the slide that is supposed to press down the disconnector isnt low enough so the disconnector doesnt go low enough to disconnect. I had to file down the "blade" on the disconnector just enough that the disconnector wil disconnect but will reconnect. it works fine so far but I was afraid of any reliability problem. I just need a disconnector that is about .01 longer than whatever DPMS offers... I have no idea what other vendors offer and they dont say how long they are made...

A normal disconnetor should be no less than 1.292" long, find a good pair of calipers and see what size yours is. What did you do to this poor gun that you're having all these problems?

Unfortunately rahimiiii is learning the hard way that you get what you pay for in 1911 parts. Its a hard lesson to learn but most of the parts in the kits you get for a 1911 are out of spec. Sorry to hear you are having problems Rahimii and first check to see if your disconnector is even in spec, if not getting any stock one will work for you. Of course it also depends on whether your sear is in spec also.

That INCLUDES the frames, especially the cast aluminum ones. Hell, I just used a spring as a welding rod (for wear resistant hardness) and my torch, built up the top of the disconnector, and recut it to the length that I needed. Clamp it properly in the vise, and be quick about it, and the rest of the disconnector's temper will be unaffected. If you are worried about it, pack it in heat-control-paste.
