I've read a few times on this forum that when prepping a disconnector it's a good idea to dress the front corner that may protrude into the mag well. That seems logical to me.
I've been doing some work on a pistol and took a look down the mag well. Indeed, the corner of the disconnector was protruding. I dressed it down a bit (see picture). It's still protruding into the mag well just a little bit. Is that OK, or should I dress it down more? The pistol functions fine, and the hammer doesn't drop when inserting a magazine. I obviously don't want to weaken the disconnector, and I'm just not sure how necessary any further work on it is.
Round the corner of some more, it's plenty thick. Here's EGW's disco.
Thanks, log man. Is my goal absolutely no protrusion into the mag well?
I take a straight edge and lay it inside the well and drag it across the disco until the edge is lower than the frame.
