Has anybody here tried to get the fire group from a double action pistol - like a Para Ordnance - and tried to fit them into a standard 1911 frame?

I have not been able to find any Para parts for sale, but the idea intrigues me. It seems like it would be doable.

Seecamp used to make a true SA/DA conversion for the 1911.

The LDA isn't really a DA pistol at all.

It is the external hammer equivalent of the Glock, with the mechanism pre-set to allow for a moderate trigger pull.

If you have a misfire, you cannot pull the trigger a second time and cause a re-strike.

Glock, Kahr, Sigma & others use this type of action as the basis for some of their so-called DAO handguns.

I have some more pictures of the Seecamp conversion if you are interested. I don't have a LDA to work from; otherwise I'd model it myself.
