I double charged a 45ACP round with HG Tightgroup! I'm very very lucky that it whose the last round and all the pressure went threw the mag blowing out the follower spring and floor plate (never did find them). What do I look for to make sure its safe to fire again?

Look in the barrel chamber and the barrel link for starters. Does it still cycle by hand, no hitches?

The entire frame/slide should be checked under good lighting for cracks especially the bottom barrel lugs. Most important is the condition of the barrel lugs and the lugs in the slide to make sure they were not rounded by the super fast cycling. I've seen some that even bowed out the slide slightly. If everything seems ok and the gun cycles by hand smoothly, everything should be fine.

Good luck! Also, you were very lucky that it did not blow off the grip panels. That stings!

Have you pulled the bullets on that ammo batch? May be more suprises lurking in the ammo can. Have a friend that didn't listen and he wrecked his brother's gun.

Yes I pulled all and they checked out ok. Looks like I must have forgot to dump the case when I had a station hang up!
